Notice of Spring Primary Election – February 21, 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Spring Primary Election will be held at the Reedsville Municipal Building, 217 Menasha Street, in the Village of Reedsville, on February 21, 2017.
Polls for the election will be opened at 7:00 AM and will close at 8:00 PM on that day. Polling place is accessible to the elderly and to the disabled voter.
Notice of Meeting of the Local and Municipal Board of Canvassers
At the close of voting on Election Day, pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 19.84, the Election Inspectors will convene as a joint meeting of the Local Board of Canvassers and the Municipal Board of Canvassers for the purpose of conducting the local and municipal canvasses pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§7.51 and 7.53(1). This meeting will be open to the public pursuant to Wis. Stat. §§ 19.81-89.
VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail or in person.
Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail
The deadline for making application to receive an absentee by mail is: 3 pm on the fifth day before the election, Thursday, February 16, 2017
Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
Voting an absentee ballot in person
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.

The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office: Friday, February, 17, 2017
No in-person absentee voting may occur on a weekend or legal holiday.
The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Village Board of the Village of Reedsville will be holding a Special Meeting at 5:30 on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the Reedsville Municipal Building, 217 Menasha Street, Reedsville, WI. The Village Board would like to have a discussion on the 4th Street Bridge Project with the parties involved.
Village Board Meeting will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2017 @ 6:30pm.
The Reedsville Municipal Building will be closed all day December 23rd, 26th and January 2nd, and at noon on December 30th for the holidays.
Clerk-Treasurer’s office will be closed December 19th thru December 26th, 2016 .
Manitowoc County Schedules 4th Street Bridge Public Informational Meeting
Manitowoc County Highway Department is conducting a Public Informational Meeting concerning proposed improvements to the 4th Bridge and approaches at the Mud Creek Crossing in the Village of Reedsville. The proposed project also includes a stream realignment of Mud Creek to reduce existing scour issues at the bridge abutment.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., at the Manitowoc County Highway Department, 3500 WI-310, Manitowoc, WI, 54220. Representatives from the Manitowoc County Highway Department and AECOM will be present to explain the proposed project, answer questions, and receive input on the project.
All citizens with concerns, as well as those with historical knowledge, who may assist in the development of this project, are encouraged to attend and/or contact project personnel. Project specifics will be discussed.
Construction could occur as early as 2018.
